Leanne Downs Portrait Photographer Nature

Hello and welcome to this online space for my work.

My name is Leanne - I am a trainee ecotherapy practitioner, photographer, writer and artist - living at the edge of the beautiful land of Dartmoor.

I started my working life as a photographer, writer and social media professional, which is where my interest exploring human relationships to the natural world began in earnest. In the midst of my career, as I struggled through an intense period of personal turmoil, I began to notice how spending time in nature was holding me and supporting me through it all - the fear, the grief, the anger, the feelings of isolation and confusion. I had found a safe place where there was always time and space for me, and a deeper sense of kinship was forged.

This journey has led me to trainings in ecopsychology and nature based practise, with the intention of offering one-to-one and group based ecotherapy and nature connection sessions to facilitate healing, health, wellbeing and personal growth. I am currently (2024) in my final year of a three year training - after which I will become qualified and accredited to offer a mix of therapeutic interventions. This year I am positioned to offer an initial series of sessions for case-study to gain my qualification. To find out more about these sessions, please visit this page.

Due to the above training commitments, my availability for photography work is limited in 2024, however please get in touch as there are a few slots available.
